This FAQ is aimed at site administrators to help them configure and use the chat rooms. For more specific information or general user information, refer to Control Panel Help or Chat Rooms Help.

To change the title and description text on the login page of your chat rooms, log into your Control Panel, go to the Services / Chat Rooms / Options page and edit the Title and Description fields.

To change the default welcome message for your chat rooms, log into your Control Panel, go to the Services / Chat Rooms / Options page and edit the Welcome Message field.

To censor profanity in posts to your chat rooms, log into your Control Panel, go to the Services / Chat Rooms / Options page and check the Censor Posts box.

To allow other users to create new chat rooms, log into your Control Panel, go to the Services / Chat Rooms / Options page and check the User Creatable Rooms box.

To restrict your chat rooms to registered users only, log into your Control Panel, go to the Services / Chat Rooms / Options page and check the Registered Users Only box.

To change the colors used in your chat rooms to match your website, log into your Control Panel and go to the General / Appearance page.

To purge old messages, log into your Control Panel and go to the Services / Chat Rooms / Purge page.

To access your chat rooms from your website, add a URL link (i.e. <a href='UrlToYourChatRooms'>Chat Rooms</a>) to a page on your website and set the "href" parameter to the URL of your chat rooms. To find out the URL of your chat rooms, log into your Control Panel and go to the Services / Chat Rooms / Options page.

To create new chat rooms, log into your chat rooms and click the New Room link under Room Options on the top right of the page. If User Creatable Rooms is checked on the Services / Chat Rooms / Options page of your Control Panel, any user can create new rooms. Otherwise, only moderators can create new rooms.

To designate users to act as moderators for your chat rooms, log into your Control Panel, go to the Users / Maintenance page and edit the user you would like to designate. On the Permissions page of the User Profile, select Moderator for Chat Rooms. You can also promote users to Moderator while in the chat rooms but this is only temporary and when the user moves to another room, they will get the default permissions for that room.
