This page allows you to add or edit a Poll. The primary difference between adding and editing a poll is that when adding a poll, you will not be able to add options until you first Save the poll. In order to complete a poll, you must add at least 2 options.
The Header Image field is optional and can contain a fully qualified URL (including the "http://") to an image to appear at the top of the Poll.
The Header Link field is optional and can contain a fully qualified URL (including the "http://") of a page to go to when the header image is clicked. If the Header Image field is blank, the Header Link field will be ignored.
The Question is a text header that will appear directly below the header image (if present).
The Description will appear directly below the question. To format the Description using WFML or to include images in place of emoticons, use the toolbar above the Description field. For more information about WFML or the emoticons, click the Help button (
) on the toolbar.
The Other Options section contains additional features that can be turned on or off.
If Acitve is checked, people will be allowed to vote on the poll.
If Show Results is checked, the results of the poll will be displayed under the poll itself.
If Secret Ballot is checked, users will not be able to view the individual ballots. Otherwise, there will be a link below the results (if visible) that allows users to view the individual ballots (who voted for what).
The Vote Restriction section determines if users can place multiple votes or if they are limited to one vote.
If One Vote Only is checked, users will only be able to vote once for the specified amount of time (see below).
If voting is being restricted, the Restriction Mode determines the method of restriction. If IP is selected, the IP address of anyone voting will be stored and no votes will be accepted from that IP for the specified amount of time. If Cookies is selected, a cookie will be stored on the voter's machine (if cookies are enabled in their browser) and they will not be allowed to vote while the cookie is valid (i.e. the specified amount of time).
The Timeout field determines how long (in minutes) the user has to wait before they will be allowed to vote again. This field must contain a positive whole number (i.e. a number with no decimal point).
If you are editing a poll (or if you have created a new poll and have already done an initial Save) the Vote Options section will appear below the Vote Restriction section. This section allows you to add new options to the poll.
To add an option, click the Add button (
) and enter a name for the new option.
Once you have added an option, you can change it's name by clicking it's Edit button (
).
If you want to permanently delete an option, click it's Delete button (
).
Note: All fields marked with a * are required!
